Is Anybody Here from Out of Town

On this memorial day weekend, I was looking through photographs and found this series of video clips from October 23, 2004.

This is the Lincolnaire Chorus, a chapter of the Swest Adelines.  My barbershop quartet, Tri Town Sound, was invited by a Lincolnaire quartet, Classified, to sing with them on their show hororing the veterans.  The show was called , "There's Something About a Soldier".

Although rehearsed in advanced, we were instructed to sit with our families in the audience, but NOT sit together.  As it came to that part of the show, Classified performed a second song then asked the audience, "Is anyone here from out of town?"  They looked at rasied hands, and picked four men to come on stage.  As we, the chosen ones, entered the stage, Classified handed us sheet music.  The instructions were to look it over, and at a certain part of the song, we would join in.

The audience was as nervous for us as we intended.  Classified began to sing, "If There's Anybody Here from Out of Town".  When it came to the second verse, we looked at the music, figured ah - who needs the music, tossed it away and began to sing.  The audience suddenly realized we were a regular quartet and roared.  This was one of the most memorable experiences ever of my quarteting experience.

Excuse the quality from short camera video clips, but I think you'll be able to relive this with me.

It was a REALLY fun show.  THANKS Classified & Lincolnaires!
